So here is where we come to sisters awesome post and the new testament burning incense...

There is only ONE oath and that Oath is our Lord... :inlove:

Quote
The "time of incense"

5THERE was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

6And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

7And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

8And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course,

9According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.

10And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.

The Amplified version says "hour":

10And all the throng of people were praying outside [in the court] at the hour of incense [burning].

So I have been thinking, how do we burn these children in ourselves?  How do we offer up the pleasing aroma to our Lord?

Does God give us each these "hours of prayer" where it is our opportunity to place that child, i.e. Medan = "contention", on the alter? And if we choose to do that rather than continuing in our own feelings and reactions...it is then that we do raise the incense to Him?  Like choosing to "release" rather then demand.  We lay this child on the alter of our heart.  Of course prayer accompanies that as the only way we have the power to be righteous is through Him and Christ in us. So, when by faith and prayer we agree with Him and give our natural desires for contention, or wealth, or whatever to Him it becomes our "hour of incense".
