I was looking for this diet and this is what I found.   Please read first

have nothing to do with the questionable HCG Diet.

The HCG Diet, popularized and pitched in the book The Weight Loss Cure "They" Don't Want You to Know About by Kevin Trudeau, offers overweight and obese folks a way to rid themselves of their excess fat forever.

The promise of the HCG Diet is a permanent cure to obesity such that you can then eat whatever you want as much as you want while you maintain a healthy weight.

Of course, you need to go through the detailed "weight loss cure protocol" as its called by Trudeau in the book. But watch out: If you're thinking about starting this so-called diet, you need to take a hard look at it up front.

Take a look now at these key points of the HCG Diet to check out the inherent problem with each:

There's a start phase which states you can pretty much eat whatever you want, as long as its organic, and you are to eat six times per day. The organic requirement supposedly acts to counteract the effects of all other food (non-organic) you've been eating, the components of which can be blamed for your being overweight (i.e. it's not your fault you're overweight, it's the food's fault), things like bovine growth hormone, artificial sweeteners, additives, trans fats, and pasteurization and homogenization, among a myriad of other factors.

Eat organic only six times a day for 30 days? What if a proper organic food supply isn't available to you, and what about the premium you pay for organic? This raises a red flag you need to be aware of about the HCG Diet.

Another aspect of the start phase (note - you're not even really on the diet yet!) is a requirement to walk one hour every day. Also, you must use a sauna every day, get colonics every other day, and get massages at least once or twice a week. What's more, you are to wear devices that block electromagnetic chaos, and use no lotions, no creams, and no drugs.

Again, the issue of availability of these items and/or the necessary and potentially large expense you need to incur: Where are you to use a sauna? Must you join a gym? You need to wear a device to block electromagnetic noise? What if you spend your days outside for work, for example; you are not to wear sunscreen (no lotions or creams) so you put yourself at risk of increased sun exposure and thus skin cancer. These all raise a red flag you need to be aware of about the HCG Diet.

The heart of the HCG Diet: The second phase is a 45 day regiment in which you need to get injections from your doctor - every day - of hCG, which is human chorionic gonadotrophin. It's supposed to aid in the burning of fat. I don't know if that's true and I don't want to know. Why? Because the only thing worth noting, it seems to me, is that hCG is refined from the urine of pregnant women! Whether it works or not to burn fat makes no difference to me... I'm not turning myself into a pin cushion every day for a month and a half with a serum coming from the pee of pregnant women! Call me silly - I'm not gonna do it!

So, you've got the expensive supplies - syringes, hCG, etc. - trips to the doctor every day for injections, the injections themselves, and the fact that it's an injection of a hormone that comes from urine. These all raise a red flag you need to be aware of about the HCG Diet.

When you move on to the third phase, you get to eat like you did in the first phase: All organic, half a dozen times a day, and so on. But watch your weight carefully, because if you gain more than two pounds in any given day, you are NOT to eat the next day until 6pm. You must fast. After 6pm, you are to have a big, juicy steak.

Eat again like in the first phase? Well, see above for those red flags. And weight gain in a day? I thought the urine hormone (hCG) in the 2nd phase is supposed to burn fat. Huh? And go without eating until 6pm on days you've gained? How will you function throughout the day? Then have a steak? What if you're a vegetarian? These all raise a red flag you need to be aware of about the HCG Diet.

You've read this far. Great. So doesn't this diet seem and sound like an awful lot of work? What's more, it seems very expensive, very difficult to stick with for the average person, very time consuming, and even dangerous. Doesn't it? Does the mere idea of even trying this diet give you confidence you could do it, let alone actually try? It just seems there are quite a few red flags that go along with the HCG Diet that you really need to be aware of and consider.

Look: Diets should be easy, fun, cost-effective, efficient, simple to start and simple to maintain, natural! Otherwise, you end up trying to force a square peg in a round hole each and every day. The HCG Diet seems way too complex and way too expensive.
