Just watched one of those kids I mentioned get hauled away in handcuffs...so truly sad....they are our neighbors.
My dh tried to counsel the dad years back (when we were in close fellowship in the church) and warn him that if he did not step up and become the spiritual/godly leader in his home, these things would happen.


me2lord, it is such a fine line between warning our kids and scaring them into not living their lives.  We have been forthright with them as far as watching the events unfolding in our times.  I just am unwilling to tell them that we are THIS CLOSE to turmoil.  I am just glad that they are still home with us, so that when the time comes, we can still counsel them and they can come with us (wherever the Lord leads us to?)
