dear Laurel... remember to bear in mind that God reproves us and gives us correction as we need it. Sometimes it can be painful to view our spiritual appearance in the sight of God... and this is what the dream is addressing. Where is your dd spiritually? Is she serving the Lord in obedience or is there sin which needs repented of? I do NOT say this judgmentally in the slightest. Please let me give you an example.  When I was 16 and had turned AWAY from the Lord, He gave me a dream. I was seated in a very dark movie theater but some light was shown on my arm. On my arm were these HORRIFYING lumps of flesh stacked one on top of the other... a total of three huge lumps like the ugliest looking moles you would ever see!

Later when I returned to the Lord, the interpretation came. The sins of the Fathers pass onto the children (who are not surrendered to Him) unto the THIRD and fourth generation. (I had THREE lumps of FLESH)  on my arm which represented the "works of the flesh"... carnality... my agreement was with the dark movie theater lifestyle. All is forgiven however after we genuinely surrender in repentance from those sins.

The Lord has granted me discernment concerning spiritual conditions of various individuals (as the need arises). ie- pride will often show itself as a VERY puffy face and eyes. The term "puffed up" or "swollen" is generally denoted with pride.

Carnality is also referred to as "the old man"... ie- grandpa in the dream.

Your dd may not be ready to receive these instructions but you can be in prayer over this.
