The Deadly Wound Bruises the Serpent
« on: July 15, 2010, 08:29:57 pm »
The first prophecy of the Bible is where God spoke to the serpent, telling him.....

  • Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her Seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise His heel.

The serpent did. He nailed Christ to the cross...not realizing that was the purpose Jesus came for. It defeated Satan for He accomplished what we cannot.

  • Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.

Satan bruised Christ and in his role as the serpent...he bruises us.

  • Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Although Satan bruises us it isn't a death blow for, through Christ, "we are healed." The serpent bruises us with his deception. Christ was anointed to give us eyes to see the truth...sight to the blind. What of the other part of the first prophecy? "It shall bruise thy head."

  • Psalm 68:21 But God shall wound the head of His enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.

Revelation 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

Revelation 13:12-14 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

His deadly wound is only healed for a certain time for...

  • Nahum 3:18-19 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them. There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?
