The Word of the Lord - The Hand of the Lord
« on: July 12, 2010, 08:00:18 pm »
Ezekiel 1:3 The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was there upon him.

The Word of the Lord is:

John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.

The "hand of the Lord" is:

Acts 11:15-16,21 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Then remembered I the Word of the Lord, how that He said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. (21) And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

The hand of the Lord is His power and that power is...the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit makes known the Word. As the Word came expressly to Ezekiel He comes expressly to us for we too are sons of man when the Hand of the Lord touches us.

  • Hand of the Lord - feminine noun - Blue Letter Lexicon

    1. By the help or agency of any one, by means of any one
    2. Fig. applied to God symbolising His might, activity, power

The Word was speaking to Ezekiel telling him his mission as a son of man...as He tells us our mission. The Word of the Lord sends His Hand of the Lord upon us to understand...to open our eyes and ears in understanding so we speak, prophesy, His Word....only His Word!

  • Proverbs 1:23 Turn you at My reproof: behold, I will pour out My spirit unto you, I will make known My words unto you.

He doesn't teach us to read the written word but He makes known His Words....He gives Divine revelation of His Words through His spirit. We then prophesy, speaking those Words, deeper understandings of the written word, given to us by His Spirit.

  • Jeremiah 23:27-29 Which think to cause My people to forget My name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten My name for Baal. The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD. Is not My word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

Jeremiah 1:9 Then the LORD put forth His hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put My words in thy mouth.

Isaiah 51:16 And I have put My words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of Mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art My people.

His hand, His power, His Spirit, covers us as we "break the rock in pieces." His Words spoken through us shatter deception, lies and the misleading teachings of the antichrist, the fake rock. His Words in our mouth! Notice in the Isaiah verse who Zion is....His people are the spiritual Zion where He dwells!

  • Ezekiel 2:7-9 And thou shalt speak My words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious. but thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee." And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein; And He spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.

    Ezekiel 3:4-5 And He said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with My words unto them. For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;

3:10-11 Moreover He said unto me, "Son of man, all My words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears. And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy People, and speak unto them, and tell them, 'Thus saith the Lord GOD;' whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear."

3:14-17 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me. Then I came to them of the captivity at Tel-abib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days. And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying; "Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore hear the word at My mouth, and give them warning from Me.

As Ezekiel was instructed...we are instructed! Those of the captivity, the house of Israel by the river Chebar, represent today's house of Israel....Christians. As they were historically taken captive by the Assyrian (a type for the antichrist), we're taken captive by him too. Captive to his deception. Tel-abib is the "mound of the flood" and Chebar means....far off, an extent of time, a great while, long ago, formerly.

A great deal is given to us in those names. The flood of end times comes from the antichrist and that flood is deception. That flood overflows the river Chebar where the house of Israel, Christians, are. The sons of man have "sat where they sat" until He comes to us, awakening us to be His watchmen, to hear His Word, not the words of man, and...give them warning. The river of deception is both past, present and future....far off and long ago....a river of a great while.

  • 3:24-27 Then the Spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, "Go, shut thyself within thine house. But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them: and I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house. But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, 'thus saith the LORD God; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: 'for they are a rebellious house.

We sit among them, by the river flowing with deception, until...."the Spirit entered into me." Then we are stood upon our feet. The Spirit teaches and we speak...speak His Words whether or not they listen. As He was our example...we don't reprove...judge, decide, convict, convince.

  • Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

John 12:47 And if any man hear My words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

Ezekiel, as well as Jeremiah, Isaiah and all the prophets are examples to us. When His Spirit enters us we, as did they, are to be watchmen and warn....speak His Words...whether or not they listen. We too are sons of man and He gives us power (the Spirit) to be sons of God. Will we? Will we use that power, be led by His Spirit and speak His Words....becoming a son of God?

  • John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:

Thank  you W.W.  that said a lot!

There is some history taking place  in Ezk 1:3  Ezekiel was in the land of the Chaldean's, while he also was in captivity under Darius I believe, all the prophets wrote their testament from God while in captivity I believe from all I read in the bible.   This is how they went directly to Gog and Magog and the King of Assyria and so forth and said these things to them we have written in our bible to them.

It was fascinating for me to read their being in captivity and the Lord doing these things with them, and Isaiah also was there.  the more I read and study the bible it appears that the vast amount of the bible was written by God's people while they were in captivity.

John also on the Island of Patmos  was in the suffering of captivity when the Revelations of Jesus was given to him. Rev 1:9

I thought you might like this information as the verses tells us they are in these places as they are given visions and prophecies to write.

the father said he was sending the tribulation through the seed of Ishmael  and they are camped around us now.  Trust the Lord in the times of trouble that is near to all of us.   The Lord is coming.

Hi Vickie....yes, it does go along with Ezekiel being with those of the captivity by the River Chebar.  It's a type of us being among those in captivity....captivity to deception.  As the Spirit came to those you mentioned, while in captivity, His Spirit awakens us to His truths so we "come out of her."

  • Revelation 18:4  And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Then, as the prophets took His Word to all that would hear....we are to take His Word to those that will hear.  But, as He told Ezekiel, He sends us to those of our own house, that speak our own language.  Fascinating!  He puts us just where we need to be.  He leads us...making our foreheads strong against theirs so we keep on keeping on!

  • Ezekiel 3:8 Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.

OH WOW! Amen!  Judi sister, wonderful study!

3:24-27 Then the Spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, "Go, shut thyself within thine house. But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, 'thus saith the LORD God; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: 'for they are a rebellious house.

I never noticed it saying 'shalt not be to them a reprover'
