Cherubims, Olive Trees and...Us
« on: July 27, 2010, 07:31:06 pm »

This was revealed to me a few days ago and it brings together two other recent threads I posted...."The son of man from the East" and the "Cherubims on the East of the Garden," which were based on the following two passages.....

  • Genesis 3:24 So He drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life

Matthew 24:24-28 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, He is in the desert; go not forth: behold, He is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles (vultures) be gathered together.

Bear with me while this is all put together....the son of man mentioned as coming as lightning from out of the east is the antichrist...the fake, pretending to be an angel of light.  He comes out of the east...the direction in which God placed the Cherubims with their flaming swords (words of fire), to "keep the way of the tree of life."  Not to keep folks out of the garden but keep the way cleared to Him. To use their flaming swords (words of fire) to cut through all the deception the fake places in the way of God's children. "Is not My word like as a fire?"  [Jeremiah 23:29]

On the east of the garden are the Cherubims.  On the east of Jerusalem is the mount of Olives.   What is the connection?   :confused0006:

  • 1 Kings 6:19,23,27  And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.  (23)  And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high. (27)  And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.

The oracle is the "holy of holies."  It isn't written this way but would that not be....the voice of God?  There the ark was set.  There the two cherubims of olive trees were set.  Their wings encompassed the inner house.  There the two cherubims "keep the way of the tree of life!"  That "way" is through Christ and He is The Word, the "voice of God."  God speaks to and through the two cherubims of olive trees and they wield the flaming sword...turning every which way.

The cherubims are made of olive trees.  What do we know of olive trees and the mount of Olives?

Mount of Olives ~ Smith's Bible Dictionary

Quote
The mount of Olives" occurs in the Old Testament in [Zechariah 14:4] only.  In [2 Sam.15:30] it is called "Olivet;" in other places simply "the mount, the mount facing Jersualem, or the mountain which is on the east side of the city."  In the New Testament the usual form is "the Mount of Olives" and is called also "Olivet."  This mountain is the well-known eminence on the east of Jerusalem, intimately connected with some of the gravest events of the history of the Old Testament and the New Testament, the scene of the flight of David and the triumphal progress of the Son of David, of the idolatry of Solomon, and the agony and betrayal of Christ.

It is a ridge of rather more than a mile in length, running in general direction north and south, covering the whole eastern side of the city.  At it's northern end the ridge bends round to the west, so as to form an enclosure to the city on that side also.

The mount of Olives encloses the city, protecting it from the east, as the two cherubims wings enclose the holy of holies, as the two cherubims keep the way of the tree of life!  Who are the two cherubims made of olive trees and who is the mount of Olives...Biblically, mountains represent nations so....this is a nation of olive trees?

  • Psalm 52:8  But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

Jeremiah 11:16  The LORD called thy name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult He hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.

Believers are His olive trees, but as the Jeremiah verse shows....not all olive trees are in good standing.   :'(

  • Zechariah 14:4 And His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

This nation of believers, this mountain of olive trees to which we belong, will cleave!  When this age ends not all will be with Him for some shall fall into apostasy.  His saints are "His feet" that stand on this mountain now.  They are the two cherubims with the flaming swords, they are His many two witnesses.  They/we are keeping the way of the Lord but not all listen, not all see or hear.

Sister, I know most of the time I don't make sense and I rarely can put things together   But at least the Lord does allow me crumbs  grin bits and pieces, PRAISE for that!  :party0006:

Now this post reminded me of the directions and how biblical people oriented themselves...http://www.christian-forum.net/index.php?showtopic=33141&st=0 Post #3

How did the people of the bible orient themselves?

Isa 11:12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

"four corners of the earth" << like 'orient'--al>>> EAST! :P

The bibilical person faced eastward toward the sunrise, thus, front/east, behind/west, left/north, right/south.

In this Israel differed from the Egpytians, who oriented themselves to the south, the source of the Nile River.

Israel combined its sunrise' system with geographical viewpoints, thus, west/the sea, east/the wilderness, south/Negeb (dry southern country), north/mountians

And here is one I most indentify with <center of the world, YEP! that's me> :D :P

Israel lay in the central position between the nations, at the connecting point of three continents, via. land and water. They saw Jerusalem with its Mount Zion as the center of the world and for good reason too, so does the Lord God,

Isa 2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, [that] the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

Eze 5:5 ¶ Thus saith the Lord GOD; This [is] Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst of the nations and countries [that are] round about her.

As expressed in the Jewish Midrash, "just as the navel is in the center of a person, so is the land of Israel".

    * Zechariah 14:4 And His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

Now this: "and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south." then apply this: "The bibilical person faced eastward toward the sunrise, thus, front/east, behind/west, left/north, right/south.

and it would seem to go with:   Mat 25:33  And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

Now consider this also:  How many times does the Lord say "I will set my face against"...

Jer 21:10     For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the LORD: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.

Jer 44:11     Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.

Eze 14:8     And I will set my face against  that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD.

Matt. 25:33 says "on his right and left"....that would be reversed from our right and left, thus his North and South...
