Well, things had gotten REALLY lean and scary, down to an empty and bare pantry, refrigerator, and freezer, and a 40 pound weight loss (which I needed per God’s Infinite Wisdom)... it was just 3 days before my 55th birthday (June 7th - mark your calendars- lol) and I was penniless (24 cents in the bank) and I thought I was going to have the most depressing birthday of my ENTIRE EXISTENCE, eating only what I had left, boiled spagehetti with catchup for my "pasta sauce"... then SUDDENLY the "God of the Last Minute" went into action!
1) A client FINALLY paid up an overdue $2,000 bill for design work rendered 3 months ago, and I was able to put it toward 1 and a half months of past due rent.
2) My brother sent me several hundred dollars! Lord bless him, mind you, this was in the midst of him preparing for stressful prostrate surgery (radical robotic prostectomy) after being diagnosed with 3rd stage cancer! (The surgery was a success and all the cancer was removed, it had not metastasized beyond the prostrate, the lymph nodes removed were all negative [PRAISE JESUS!] and now he will have radiation therapy as a precaution.) What a trooper!
3) I landed a small logo design project for a theatrical production in Los Angeles... they liked what I did and now they want me to tackle another assignment… at least the 2 assignments will pay 1 month’s rent.
4) Out of the complete blue, my poor little old Auntie Lily and Uncle Chris (90 years old) in the next county just sent me a $100! Lord bless them! (I'm debating to buy paint to sprues up the extra room and put an Ad in the paper for a roommate to cut my rent in half.)
5) My kind and compassinate neighbor David paid my electric and phone bill and even stamped the envelopes and sent in the payments himself!
6) My sweet little neighbor Marie has also been so kind and giving during this time, loaning me money here and there to stay afloat or buy art supplies for my work (I hope something big comes in so I can pay her).
7) A friend of mine in New Jersey who heard of my situation surprised me by sending me (I'm just guessing here) at least a $1000 worth of frozen foods from the Omaha Steak Company that included a wide assortment of incredible foods, vegetable dishes, sirloin steaks, hamburger, gourmet franks and chicken, etc. which completely filled my freezer (a hefty Amana side-by-side)! One day my freezer was COMPLETELY EMPTY; and the next day it was COMPLETELY FILLED! Only God can do that! It took me an hour to figure out how to puzzle the food into the freezer so it would all fit! The UPS delivery man brought up 2 giant Styrofoam crates filled with these incredible delectable, things I haven't eaten in eons, like Chicken Cordon Bleu, salmon, pork steaks, meat lasagna, Tiramisu cake, garlic mashed potatoes, roasted herb potatoes, assortments of roasted vegetable medley, etc.! It's such an amazing treat. GOD IS GOOD!
You should have seen me---- I was like Noah building a flaming altar to God (IN MY LIVING ROOM) to give PRAISE and THANKSGIVING for His blessings and provisions! PRAISE JESUS!
I pray this encourages all of you! Just start thanking Jesus in advance for what He will yet do for you out of Faith (not like the "Name It and Claim It Cult", because Christ comes FIRST, not the request); it’s ALREADY DONE IN THE SPIRIT, you just have to appropriate it by Faith the things UNSEEN into the physical by THANKING HIM, rather than merely asking Him for help and thanking God afterwards (though you’ll do that anyway); consider the help ALREADY DONE, like the VICTORY IS ALREADY WON AT THE CROSS, it is FINISHED, hence, your prayers are already answered, so just start thanking God. That’s what I did. Just praise Him and thank Him for everything, even thank Him for what you don’t have, and praise Him.
Okay, now I have to go and thank Jesus for my next big job (that I already have in the spirit) to catch up on the rest of the rent and pay back my dear friends.
Blessings…
