What the lord has done!
« on: July 01, 2010, 06:34:29 am »
I had for a few weeks been planning a youth group taco night.  Well, I didnt see my hubby backing me up on that...for he always has other things that need his money.  Not complaining, mind you, he really does! :innocent:
So I got everything to feed over 18 people, the youth group growing.  Well, I got their, and the youth was divided with everything that needed taken care of, and I was so exsited, and went to helping, but cutting up more tomatoes for the tomato lover and olives for that same person.  When all was over, they where so exsited and happy I did this, and we all had a great time together.  Then after words their leader came up and told me they dont get that kind of help like that, and that it helped a great deal.  You know it was like one of those ideas that pops in my head and I just couldnt put in out of my head, and I found out that the leader had it on the lists of wants to do with the youth.  I was thanked over and over again and how much it was needed.  I left exsited because It just lined up with G-d was doing with them, and I got to have a hand in it like that.  I learned years ago, from one of the first churchs my hubby and I started going to, they had a rules for parents that had their kids in a group there, that each parent had to give a set time in that area their kid is in once a mouth.  It was a pretty large church too, but a good thing I took with me.  That the leader of the youth group was shocked that I wanted to help, and did it all myself, as to be helpful because my child was in that group.  It was just a great thing to see played out.  Making many happy.  I was exsited about it all, and wanted to share what the Lord was doing here like that!

What a lovely testimony!  I miss that my Shelby isn't in youth anymore...I was always more blessed by volunteering than I ever put into it!  Young people are so awesome when they are on fire for the Lord!  I hope the other parents who haven't tried it yet will see all of the joy your brought and got from the experience!  And I know it will mean so much to your precious girl when she thinks back over her life how much you were there!

Now, where's them leftover tacos??!   :food:
