And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds. Acts 7:22

Moses, wow what a man. Trained to be a future Pharaoh of Egypt, skilled in all the arts of and crafts. Skilled in ways which you and I cannot but imagine at the moment. Yet despite all of this at fourty years old he turned his back on it all, and then at eighty GOd uses all that knowledge and skill to lead the people of Israel out of bondage and slavery. IS it wrong to know and collect all of this knowledge? no it is not, but is knowledge any good without GOd? no it is not, for all good thing s have come from GOd. Therefore any study into anything ultimately leads back to a study of GOd. It is for this reason, and the reason that man desires and must have something bigger than themselves to worship that eventually all study leads back to a study of GOd or what else is in the universe.

THe promise in Matthew is if we seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness first then all other things will be added unto us. Proverbs tells us the same thing just slightly different by teling us that fear of the Lord is the beginning of all wisdom, and so all who would truly be wise wise should seek the Lord first and then other knowledge is useful but not essential to us.

MAy God bless you this day, and may you seek HIm every morning and evening.
