I posted this in the e-f prophey forum:

Agur is one of Solomon's fancy names.  It means 'gathered,' but also 'gathered among the sages.'  Jakeh means 'obedience' and was a symbolic name of Solomon.  Ithiel means 'God has arrived.'  Ucal means 'devoured' in the sense of being filled.  And the word 'prophesy' means like a tale of doom and recovery or like taking a burden off of you.  Solomon is asking God to take some of this stuff away!

Solomon is telling God, 'Man, I didn't go to school for this stuff.  I don't even know what's going on here.  Tell me, if you will, who created heaven and hell?  Who is holding my spirit in his hands?  Who made the cover for the water?  Who made all this?  How did I get in this position and how do I make it better?'
'Everything you tell me makes me better and you have been a protector of me.  I don't want to add to what you say because I don't want you to be mad with me and call me a liar.'
'I only want you to do two  things before I die.   Take all this useless stuff and all of this stuff that doesn't do anything that defines a man's wealth and give me some good food.'
'I don't want to eat so much so as to become too satisfied and deny you nor do I want to have so little to have to steal to get what I need and ruin your reputation.'
'Don't tattle on a worker to his boss to make the worker curse you and you be found doing the same thing.'  [?very wise, but out of place]
'At that house over there now, they despise their father and don't even thank their mother.  Those people in the next house think they are just so clean yet they don't even take a bath.  The next ones are so conceited and arrogant.'
'The next people will say anything and take everything from anybody.  And that sucker over there has two daughters that are always wanting something.  'Give me, give me, give me,' they say.  Two, three, four . . . They never have enough.'
'The grave won't be enough.  They're like barren wombs and earth that is not soaking up the water.  Or fire that just consumes.'

Enough for now.   cz035
