A great tool -journaling
« on: July 06, 2010, 02:56:57 am »
Journals.  How many of you keep on.  What I mean is journaling for yourself.  When I was in my foster home I learned to do this.  It is one of those things that has been pretty helpful to me.  I kept a dream journal, as well as a regular journal that no one was aloud to read.  I would write out two positives, and one negative about the day.  It was a training tool to get out of the habit of seeing things only in the negative way, making the positive out look of life stronger.  Dealing with this habit will help one you be able to look at life in a more positive way and still give you room for fixing those things around you.  The goal being CHANGE!

So get your place ready, that sweet looking journal you got from the store, or homemade on, or a place on your computer protected by a password.  and Mark two positives from your day that has happened, and one negative....that not being that isn't abusive to yourself or others.  Remember we need to grow from this, so if you list things that need worked on as you negative, it is a good thing.  Making goals is great.  Just remember that you aren't to over well yourself.  Start off small and work up!  Kind of like starting off running, you don't just run 6 miles right off the bat, but you work on it by starting off a few feet, warming off first.  Just thing this journaling I have put to you as your warm ups!  I started this when I was 14 years old, and I am now going on 36 years old this month.  One of the best things I have learned!

Amen! It's a wonderful idea  Keeping a journal over the years has helped me to see how blessed I am! When I read back over my own thoughts and feelings it automatically has me thanking the Lord for seeing me through the hard times! It also helps me to see how He has helped me to reach my goals and overcome through the years, PRAISE! party usual breaks out  to208 when I read my journals from years ago. I gain strength and learn a new meaning of patience and endurance, it lifts my hopes and faith in seeing the evidence that He is working and moving me toward overcoming all obstacles. It is profound to know that He used my own hand to record the proof on those pages for me!

Thanks Cizz for posting with me on this topic! cz008

I was just going to post more ideas about the jearnals.  I noted that there are some that if they take the time to get one that was really pretty to them they would use it more.  So if you like prettiness, go for it!  I love the lather ones, and getting a few that are mostly like each other.  I watch the book shops for them going on sale.  I got one one year that had gold on the sides of the pages, for like about 4 to 5 dollers.  So pretty too.

I want to start getting them so that it would be pretty with lether on the outside.  I thought of even making my own.  REmember when we were in school and the teachers would make us cover our books with paper brown bags.  If you keep that in mind, and know that you can decorate with pictures of that year, or with your favorite fabric, the great ideas will never end.  I even traided homemade jearnals with others that made them.  Each year could be diffrent.  You can label them, date them, for order.  And my most favorite...lock them up for those nosie controling theaves of info from getting at it easy.  I have a box I have, from a story that has laither on the outside, it hides my jearnal in it, and I have a box to lock them in.  There are lots and lots of ideas about this.  Would look to see others ideas posted about this area.

 cz035 but none of this....ok!

Thanks, I was worried that these ideas might not be used at all!

I am going to make my own books of my family, and life story, with all my family history and things that happened in it for my daughter only!  I was thinking of these ideas too!  I want my daugther to have my take on life in hand, so if any thing happeneds she will not have to depend on others take that are negivtive, twisted and selfish.  For the most part if people arent good inside they dont and will not be able to put out what is true about you.   cz010

got to do it yourself.  AS well as make a point of not letting others know about it, just that child, so the truths you write about will not be destroyed, for others dont like you to shine a light on abusive behavor either.  doing this is healing as well.
