Jesus Hides Himsefl!
« on: July 08, 2010, 01:54:07 pm »
Consider the connection between Jesus hiding Himself and Hidden Manna for....He is that Manna.

  • John 8:58-59 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. Then took they up stones to cast at Him: but Jesus hid Himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Jesus hid Himself...even while in the temple, as He does today and some...He passes by!  Who is the temple....

  • 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

He is in the midst of us, of His temple, and yet some stone Him and He...passes by. How do they "stone Him" today?

  • John 12:36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be children of light," These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide Himself from them.

Again...He hides Himself but tells us how He can be found...."believe in the light."

  • Mark 7:17, 24-25 And when He was entered into the house from the people, His disciples asked Him concerning the parable. (24-25) And from thence He arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but He could not be hid. For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of Him, and came and fell at His feet:

Here too He is away "from the people" but not His disciples for His disciples believe in the Light. He also goes to Tyre and Sidon....Satan's cities, but there, although most won't know Him, there is one that "hears." She believed and "fell at His feet." She believed in the Light and He isn't hidden from those that fall at His feet.

He is the hidden Christ and Christ is...the Word...the Logos, so He is the hidden Word, the hidden manna. Even in His Temple of believers not all see His Light for as He was in their midst they stoned Him, as He, the hidden Word, is in our midst....some stone Him today. How?

  • Revelation 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Those that overcome, those that believe in His Light, those that fall at His feet, are given the hidden manna....His Spirit reveals the spirit of the Word, the manna. There are those, in the temple, that stone those that have overcome...and they are again stoning Jesus for He dwells in them....

  • Matthew 7:22-23 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.

I enjoyed the analogy you brought out of hidden manna and the Christ, for he is the bread of life we must eat of this bread in order to have salvation.

The Passover also called the communion by some, is symbolic of partaking in  this bread which represents  his body which was beaten for us that we may receive the bread from heaven.

the father said he was sending the tribulation through the seed of Ishmael  and they are camped around us now.  Trust the Lord in the times of trouble that is near to all of us.   The Lord is coming.

Thank you Me2Lord, Tsth and Adullam....coming from you three means a great deal to me.

On another forum a poster asked exactly what was being said in the thread.    I wrote....

  • John 8:58-59 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. Then took they up stones to cast at Him: but Jesus hid Himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Jesus hiding Himself while in the "midst of them" caught my eye. We know that He is the Bread, the Word...the Logos. So the hidden Jesus is the hidden Manna. Where is He hidden? In us for He "dwells in us."

As they cast stones at Him then they now cast stones at Him in us. Children of the Light, those He dwells in, are in the midst of them on forums, in groups, in churches and yet He passes them by. They don't have eyes to see Him in us so He is hidden...hidden in plain view.

  • Matthew 13:13-14 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

Those that stone Him in us are not atheist for they are in the synagogues, churches, forums, Christian groups...but He is hidden from them:

  • John 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

The killing is not literal. It is just to get rid of you and what you teach because His hidden manna is hidden from them.

So I guess to sum it up...the thread is to call to attention to who we are and Who is in us.  To make the children of light aware that as they stoned Him they will stone us.

But then, they would not really be considered "children of light"?  They would be "make-believers" wouldn't they?

And so, this comes to mind:

1 John 4:2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh  is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. 4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. 6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

"He who knows God hears us."  And, we hear them.  We may not agree on everything but as we mature, at the demise of our carnal nature (our pride and ego), we allow Him to teach us through His Word and His Word in His children.  Because, we recognize the spirit of error within ourselves and that allows us to hear the spirit of truth in the Word and in others He dwells in.  We are being refined...His gold and silver and jewels...being polished! Which brings me again to one of my favorite passages....

  • Malachi 3:16-18  Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon His name.  And they shall be Mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up My jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.  Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth Him not.
