Philippians 1:6. 9/7/2010

Being Confident of this very thing, that he which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6

Works: these are grossly misunderstood. Many people in the world think that works are what gets them to heaven and so they strive to do more and more 'good works' thinking that by them they will get into heaven, or atleast lessen their chances of going to hell, and yet we see in Philippians 1:6 here that it is God that has begun a good work in us, and that anything we that is 'good' is actually the outworking of that good work that He has begun in us. There is nothing that you or I can add or subtract from that good work. The only thing we can do is withdraw our 'consent' to Him doing that good work in us. However for as long as we allow Him to do that good work in us, then He will continue to do it and complete it in us.

Is our Salvation sure? can we lost it? These are questions that are often asked, and often mis-answered. Yes Our Salvation is sure, for this verse shows that God will complete When Christ died on the Cross the Plan of Salvation was finished and sealed, and the way into the most Holy was opened forever. However it is possible for us at any time to make a decision to reject the sacrifice of Christ or to turn back and throughout scripture there are times when God says that he will blot out our names from the book of life if we do continue in following Him. God says I am the Lord I change not, but man is fickle and changeable, in the course of our life if we are not truly fully grounded in Yeshua then we can have times when we makes mistakes and we leave the path, these do not always mean that we lose our salvation, however if persisted in they result in a loss of salvation because we reject ultimately the on who gave us salvation. However Salvation is a free gift to all who will receive it, and i9s still open to us when we come in full repentance to the throne.

It must be mentioned here though that there is one circumstance where it is possible to permanently lose our salvation. This is when we consistantly and deliberately reject the promptings of the Holy Spirit, possibly going as far as attributing the Holy SPirits work to Satan, thereby ultimately grieving the Holy Spirit so that He leaves you and no longer are you receiving His promptings or gifts.THereby you can no longer receive the Faith or be convicted of your Sin. This is the ONLY circumstance under which you or I can put ourselves in a position of losing our Salvation permanently. ALL other sin can be forgiven, though the longer that sin has treasured before it's being given up it it will make it harder to break the bonds that that sin has over you - however no matter how strong a hold sin has over your life Yeshua can and does break all of those bonds  to206

Challenge: examine your life today and ask Yeshua to enter it completely and surrender to him totally today and allow Him to work that good work in you today.
