CHRISTIAN MADE MOSQUES

From Nashville to New York, there has been a lot of angry opposition lately to the building of new mosques in America. Considering the many Islamic attacks and attempts the world has had to endure, is it any wonder?
On May 23rd, the Associated Press reported the following:
“A group of 40 Muslim families that had hoped to build a mosque in the affluent Nashville suburb of Brentwood has withdrawn its rezoning request.
Jaweed Ansari, trustee for the proposed Islamic Center of Williamson County, told The Tennessean that the families were not prepared for the anger from neighbors that the plan excited.”
Yeah, well a lot of families weren’t prepared for the anger from Muslims on 911 either; so, we feel your pain.
On July 3rd, The Tennessean updated readers on the proposed construction of another mosque near Murfreesboro in an article that began this way:
“Opponents of construction of a new Islamic mosque south of Murfreesboro plan to march on Main Street on their way to the Rutherford County Courthouse on July 14.
‘The people have spoken clearly that they don't want this mosque proposal that is before them,’ march organizer Kevin Fisher said during a Friday phone interview.”
And, then there was the anti-mosque demonstration in New York as reported on June 7th by CNN:
“Protesters gathered in lower Manhattan mid-day Sunday to demonstrate against plans to build a mosque near the site of Ground Zero, where the twin towers of the World Trade Center were destroyed by Islamist hijackers on September 11, 2001.”
You see, civilized people conduct peaceful marches to publicly protest things they oppose rather than fly planes into buildings and blow people up. Call it your religion, but the God of Abraham said: “Thou shalt not kill” and “Vengeance is mine,” meaning murder is unacceptable.
Shall we tell those traumatized by the brutal slaying of friends, family and fellow Americans to just get over it and welcome Muhammed’s minions into their neighborhoods with hugs and cookies? You can call Islamic perpetrators “radicals” and “extremists” all you want, but if Islam is a “peaceful religion” as our presidents keep telling us, why then have Muslims yet to renounce the Koran’s call to kill “infidels” like you and me? And, if they really want to live in peace and be welcomed into a society replete with “infidels,” they should expose the “radicals” and “extremists” within their ranks and help authorities bring them to justice. Until then, many Americans will continue to view Muslims with suspicion and contempt.
In an April 5th article, CBN News reportedly spoke with a “leading Muslim radical” named Anjem Choudary who told them:
"You can't say that Islam is a religion of peace…Because Islam does not mean peace. Islam means submission. So the Muslim is one who submits. There is a place for violence in Islam. There is a place for jihad in Islam."
To be a good provider for your family, one must provide protection for them as well. The “not in my neighborhood” position many have taken in response to the proposed construction of new mosques may be politically incorrect and constitutionally challenged, but The Bible teaches: “If any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Timothy 5:8)
Still, in many ways, I view today’s “Christianity” as largely responsible for the spread of Islam in this country. In my view, Muslims are merely filling the void left by biblically illiterate and morally confused Christians who are more interested in getting ahead and getting along than getting the gospel out. When our goals and values become indistinguishable from those of the world, what have the enemies of Christ to fear?
The Church’s misguided emphasis on results and relationships has spawned a generation or more of pragmatic pleasure-seekers who still think slick marketing and clever gimmicks are how God grows His Church in spite of the falling numbers and moral decay – that the lost can somehow be entertained into eternity with more bread and circuses or tricked into the kingdom with a cross-less Christ.
The Church, like America itself, has been lulled into a calamity of its own making that has left the door wide open to foreigners who feign a friendship and faithfulness that will be our undoing if we fail to repent into the merciful arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.
