Book-Discerning the voice of God, by Priscella Shirer
« on: July 14, 2010, 01:23:49 am »
Has anyone read any of her books?  I went and hear her speak and I bought
a couple of her books but the girls came and I didn't get into them.
Also the book she wrote, He speaks to me.

Luke 9:48
Then he said to them, "Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For he who is least among you all-he is the greatest."

She is really good.  I went on a womans retreat and she was the speaker
for the weekend and I just loved her.  I bought some of her books but
with the twins I never had the time to get into them.  I really needed
quiet time to do it that is why I brought them on vacation.  I will not
be able to walk the beach if it is very humid for I have scarscydoses
I have my inhealer, I'm not really bad but since I am having hot flashes
I'm not very nice lately

When I first became a christian I was 16.
I saw a glow on the wall like they show in the movie of the Ten Commandments
where Moses see's the burning bush and it is swirlling in a circle.  It was as
big as a plate I turned over and was really upset for a girl at school said she
was going to beat me up the next day.  The voice said, don't worry about tomorrow.
i felt a peace and knew it was God and went to sleep.  i have asked people
over the years if that was God talking to me and they said no, God wouldn't
do that.  Now I don't tell people for I feel they will think bad of me.
But in my heart I know it was him.  I never heard it again.  I guess that is why
I want to read this book and find out who is right and who is wrong and get
closer to God.
The book has been an eye opener right from the start.  It starts with fearing the
Lord and I guess that I never really feared him.  To me he is this loving father that
does almost anything for there child and that is why I think I am so loving and willing
to give anything that I have to someone else.

Prov1:7 & Prov 9:10 has been very helpful and I see already why I haven't been hearing
from God.  But I read, Reverenceing God opens our spiritual ears to hear clearly from him.
I am really stumbling on this and I know it is stupid and I just don't get it.  I feel like there is a wall up.
