Part 1 ~ The Locust Army:

Joel 1:2-3 Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers? Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.

• Wake up folks....has our world ever been as it is today? Do the elderly remember anything like today? Then start warning...be a watchman.

1:4 That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.

• All stages of the locust. Sometimes they work underground...destroying from the roots. Sometimes they surface devouring everything in their sight. Sometimes they swarm....millions of them and they can't be stopped. These refer to people...people devouring the land - us. Some work undercover...the powers behind the throne, and that is a very dangerous stage, and some are elected to the highest office wielding great power. Some are sent in planes to destroy buildings while others strap bombs to their bodies to destroy innocent people. Some work in banks, places of learning, entertainment...and churches. Politics, Finance, Education and Religion....all strongholds for the locusts and their king.
  
  And, they have been here for years...[2:25] And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, My great army which I sent among you. They're here for many years, beginning, I believe, at the fifth trump, but it is only the last five months of this age that they are given great power. It is important to understand that Satan is a servant of God and this IS God's "great army" that He Himself sent.
  
  
  • Revelation 9:1-5 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
    
    9:6-11 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. (9:11) And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
  
  These "locusts" are men and on their heads are crowns like gold. Biblical "heads" are mountains and mountains represent nations [Rev.17:7-9]. The locust leaders of these nations wear crowns that are "like gold," not the real thing...fake crowns on unholy people. If the crowns represent false leadership then who is the real leader? To whom do they give their allegiance? To their king...the angel of the bottomless pit....written of in 9:11 and the king of the 9/11 terrorist attack.

1:6 For a nation is come up upon My land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.

• A nation, as used here, is a "swarm of locusts," upon His land. His cheek teeth, his fangs, are as a great lion. Not the lion of the tribe of Judah but...the fake lion, the pretender.

1:7 He hath laid My vine waste, and barked My fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.

• Barked ~ "snapped, splintered, leaving it bare." Israel (house of Judah and house of Israel) is God's fig tree that has been barked. There are two ways to look at this. The locusts bark the fig tree through their political powers of taxation and control...stripping us financially. The other way is the consideration of the spiritual aspect. The fig tree...His children, His nation are those that are to produce fruit but they are stripped of truth through the deception and workings of the locusts.
  
  
  • 11 Thessalonains 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [will let], until he be taken out of the way.
    
    Matthew 21:18-20 Now in the morning as He returned into the city, He hungered. And when He saw a fig tree in the way, He came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away. And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
  
  The locusts and their deception, twisting of God's truths, are already at work. The fig tree, believers, are covered in leaves...they read the pages (leaves) of His Word and yet that is all...leaves only, no fruit, for they don't have Him, the Spirit of the Word and without Him they will not bear fruit....
  
  
  • John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.

1:13 Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of My God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God.

• Gird yourself for battle if you are called and chosen to be priests and ministers. Those that wear sackcloth, mourning clothes, are the two witnesses, the two groups of witnesses for there are many of us and we are being called! Notice the time given in this prophecy...."all night." The night is Satan's time, his great tribulation, and we are to teach, to prophesy, all during this time for truth is being withheld. Deception is being taught. His fig tree is being laid bare.
  
  
  • Revelation 11:3 And I will give power unto My two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

Part 2 ~ The Fallen Angels:


Joel 2:1-2 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.

• Great and strong. They arrive just before the end, when His day is nigh. Blow the trumpet in Zion and sound an alarm...a cry of war. Why "in Zion?" Is this the seventh trumpet and only those of Zion hear and see...know? The "holy mountain" is Zion and we are Zion...we hear because we are with Him in Zion....
  
  
  • 11 Peter 1:17-18 For He received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to Him from the excellent glory, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with Him in the holy mount.
  
  The alarm tells us to prepare for battle. When? I believe the last five months of this age...the five months mentioned above when the locusts had "power to hurt men five months." This day of darkness and gloominess means "a day of obscurity and wickedness." A day of clouds and thick darkness are armies of the dark forces. Fallen Angels! But, how will they be received by humans for their mission is obscure...they shall deceive and pretend to be so holy.
  
  
  • Matthew 24:36-38 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
  
  
  In the days of Noah it was the time of the fallen angels....He tells us it will again be as it was. Remember too that the day of the Lord comes in the night...in Satan's time, so the seventh trump sounds during the sixth trump, before his time ends. It comes as a thief IN the night. [1Thess.5:2]

2:3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.

• A fire consumes before them and that fire burns now...deception of God's Word being spread around this world...preparing the way for them. And behind them a flame will burn so that nothing and no one is safe from them unless they are as the three children in the furnace...protected by the Lord as fires of deception burn around them. Multitudes and multitudes shall be in the valley of decision...deciding wrongly. They are His garden and that garden of children is being devoured by deception leaving only a desolate wilderness behind.

2:4-5 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run. Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.

• These supernatural beings have the "appearance of horses" while "the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle." They appear to be like the locusts...men, humans...strong people. They arrive in chariots! Both sides have chariots....
  
  
  • Isaiah 66:15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with His chariots like a whirlwind, to render His anger with fury, and His rebuke with flames of fire.
    
    Nahum 2:4,13 The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings. (13) Behold, I [am] against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
  
  
  What a time this will be with "chariots in the streets!" Perhaps this is to be understood spiritually but I haven't been shown that. I see this as...the chariots of the gods. In ancient art there are depictions of battles of chariots in the sky...long before the Wright brothers made their first flight.

2:6-10 Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness (grow pale with terror). They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks: Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded. They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief. The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

• They are supernatural and cannot be killed, at that time. Although the world will be terrified at the beginning (before their face) they shall conquer with deception...pretending to be the arrival of Christ and His angels. They enter our homes and windows "like a thief," meaning they take our hearts and minds with their deception.

2:11-13 And the LORD shall utter His voice before His army: for His camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth His word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it? Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth Him of the evil.

• The Lord utters His voice...the seventh trumpet sounds and His army hears! His army IS Zion and that is where He dwells. He is with us always.

2:15-18 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God? Then will the LORD be jealous for His land, and pity His people.

2:23-27 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for He hath given you the former rain moderately, and He will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, My great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and My people shall never be ashamed. And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and My people shall never be ashamed.

• The children of Zion are given not only the former rain but the latter rain. He showers us with deeper knowledge of His Word and "ye shall eat in plenty." The phrase, "never be ashamed," can be understood as never being "confounded or confused."  They have been called out of confusion, out of Babel, Babylon.

2:28-32 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My spirit. And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

• The deliverance is IN mount Zion and IN Jerusalem for He dwells IN us (in the midst of Israel) and we prophesy His Word. His Word delivers those that "call on the name of the Lord."

Part 3 ~ Conclusion



Joel 3:11-13 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD. Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about. Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness [is] great.

• Jehoshaphat ~ Yahveh has judged. The valley of the shadow of death.  This is the harvest of the wicked and the "mighty ones" have "come down." The sickle they, the fallen angels, put in is deception...great deception. This harvest time is the last five months of this age...when the locusts, fallen angels and their king are here pretending to be of the Lord. A time of great tribulation...great deception. Are we being prepared for this by our leaders... religious and political?  Perhaps preparing us to be deceived but certainly not preparing us for the truth.  But, He has foretold us all things. There are no excuses.

3:14-16 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of His People, and the strength of the children of Israel.

• So many souls being misled as His day nears...so many wrong decisions being reached as they follow the wrong Christ. All the while the Lord roars out of Zion....His words being taught by His witnesses but will they listen?

3:17 So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.

• Our Lord dwells in Zion His holy mountain. So....His holy mountain, His Zion is...."My people."
  
  
  • Isaiah 51:16 And I have put My words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of Mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art My people.
  
  Zion isn't a geographical location but represents His saints, His holy mountain (nation) and in them He dwells and through them He roars.
